RACE SCHEDULE:

6:30 PM – Racing for all groups

8:30 PM – Super Champ Race

8:45 PM – Trophies awarded

No previously raced cars are allowed

AWANA wheels and axles must be used.

Precut cars are available

Trophies are awarded for 1st place & ribbons for 2nd & 3rd.  All 1st place speed winners will compete for the Super Champ trophy

•Best Design - car that looks the most like an actual race car

•Most Creative - car that shows the most imagination

•Best Workmanship - car that shows the most attention to detail & craftsmanship

KIT DIRECTIONS

WEIGHT:  Max. weight is 5 oz.  To add weight, drill 3/4” hole, press in pennies; or use lead balls in a hole of appropriate size and seal with glue or wood putty.    Scales will be available at club at least 2 weeks before the race, to check the weight of your car.

NOTE:  No taped-on weights will be allowed on the day of the race.

MAXIMUM HEIGHT:  3-1/2”  MAXIMUM WIDTH :  2-3/4” 

WHEEL BASE (space between wheels):  1-3/4” maximum

WHEELS:  Wheels may be deburred and trued up, but not modified.  Replacement wheels are 25 cents each.  Replacement axles are 15 cents each.

Any non-wood wheel alignment device MUST NOT make contact with the wheels.

NO PREVIOUSLY RACED CARS ARE ALLOWED

AWANA WHEELS AND AXLES MUST BE USED.

PARTICIPATING CLUBS:  Sparks thru Journey + Staff

CLUBBERS:  Ask your parents to help.

PARENTS:  Help your clubber, but don’t do it all.

Clubbers will compete in speed only with others in their club.  Trophies are awarded to 1st place winners and ribbons for 2nd and 3rd places.  All 1st place speed winners (except unlimited class) will compete for the Super Champ trophy.
